Mindy McCready arrested… again

USA Today has the details. Ms. McCready allegedly scratched her mom on the face during a scuffle and then resisted arrest when the sheriff deputies showed up. All of this is apparently in violation of her probation stemming from a 2004 prescription drug charge.
The article says that there is another potential probation violation on the way as a result of her 2005 arrest for drunk driving. Wait… if she was on probation in 2004 for illegal prescription drugs, how was a 2005 drunk driving charge not a violation of that probation? I don’t understand the freaking legal system, but I do understand that Mindy McCready is slowly but surely becoming country music’s Lindsay Lohan. God I hope she gets some serious help this time around.

Sure, Mindy has had more than her share of scrapes with the law and she’s fighting a fierce battle with booze and drugs and she apparently did slap her momma.
In the grand scale of things, it’s really not like she lied to congress and invaded Iraq or anything like that. Nobody’s been killed. Mindy hasn’t caused any blood shed or injured anyone (with the exception of the previously mentioned momma slap incident).
When viewed through the lens of our honky-tonk culture, Mindy’s fall from the red carpet into the gutter is smack dab in a long line of honest-to-God, down to earth, country women.
Hey.. sure she’s had her problems but Honky Tonker’s understand.
