It’s Wooten Wednesday!
Wednesday
Mar 12, 2008
Ahhh, Wooten Wednesday. It’s been too long since I’ve enjoyed a Wooten Wednesday, ahhhhhhhhhh to the times that I didn’t get up so early in the morning. And today is looking to be kind of a gray one at that.
The Wooten Brothers, a Nashville institution, will be taking the stage at 3rd & Lindsley at 9:30pm as they have done for every Wednesday for many a year. Cost to get in is $5, but never fear, you will get that much out of some tasty conversation, not to mention the wicked funky riffs.
Make sure to show up a bit early so you can grab some drinks & dinner, not to mention a seat!
Bret Michaels Wants To Help Your Weekend Boredom
Friday
Mar 7, 2008

Nothing to do this weekend? Kinda bored of all this rain & wanna get out and do a little partying? Well then, good ole Poison-man himself, Bret Michaels, has just the thing for you.
Friday night at the Wildhorse Saloon, Michaels will be reigning in the stage starting at 6pm, but you know how that goes, he’ll probably be on at midnight. Yes, for only $35, you too can participate in such hits as, “Talk Dirty To Me” or “Every Rose Has Its Thorns.”
Speaking with the Tennessean’s Cindy Watts, Bret said of tonight’s show, “The Wildhorse show will be unbelievably incredible.”
“It’s very important people know I play all the Poison hits in the show. It’s a full-on show. It’s a full-on band. We’ll do solo songs, the new ones and some cover stuff. It’s like an electrified Storytellers. It’s a rock party.”
The star of VH1’s Rock of Love 2 talks a big game with those seemingly surgically augmented lips of his, but I’m going to have to leave this show up to you, as I just don’t think I could stomach it.
The Chieftains Playing Schermerhorn Tonight
Tuesday
Mar 4, 2008
Tonight will see none other than The Chieftains playing the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Now, what could be better than that?
The ensemble musicians, who hold the responsibility of popularizing Irish music, will set the stage on fire me thinks. Unless you’re hooked on Tuesday night TV, you should head on over, especially since the tickets range from a reasonable 35-$105.
Call 687-6401 for tickets, or check out www.nashvillesymphony.org. Tonight’s show starts at 7pm, see ya there!
Things to do this weekend - 9.14.07 Edition
Friday
Sep 14, 2007
The end of summer/beginning of fall is just an incredible time of year in Nashville. I was driving to lunch yesterday with a friend from work and we had the windows of my car down and the world just looked different. Everything was clearer, brighter, yet not so bright that you couldn’t take it all in. So enjoyable. So gorgeous.
This is also the time of year when the calendar can start to go on overload with all of the cool things available to do around town. Things like…
- The 2007 Boro Blues Fest kicks off tonight at 5:00 at Patterson Park in Murfreesboro. It will run through tomorrow night.
- The Music City Triathlon starts at 7:30 am this Sunday - Race is SOLD OUT but you can come hang out and watch the in-shape people swim, bike and run. And hey, if you have some used running shoes you’re not using anymore, bring them out to the race because Tri for Africa will be on hand accepting donations.
- Wine on the River goes down on the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge tomorrow from 3:00 until 7:00.
- The Maple Lane Farms corn maze opens up tomorrow and will remain open until October 31 - Call 865.856.3517 for details.
- The city of La Vergne is holding it’s annual Old Timers’ Day tomorrow at Veterans Memorial Park - Festivities will include a parade, bluegrass music and fireworks!
