nashville-skyline-11.jpgNashville has been named by the Cities of Service and the Rockefeller Foundation as one of ten cities this year to win a $200,000 grant in order to boost volunteerism.

Mayor Karl Dean stated, “These are tight times for city budgets.  This grant will allow us to have dedicated staff for developing service opportunities, something we wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise.”

Which reminds us, how are you doing with your New Year’s resolutions this year?  Any plans to get into volunteering?
